<p>1- You are self motivated</p>
<p>2- You work alone and never benefit from any sort of accountability</p>
<p>3- You are able to plan your workouts in order to get the results you are looking for</p>
<p>4- You will take that plan and execute it consistently in order to achieve the result</p>
<p>5- You are able to execute your plan safely and efficiently</p>
<p>6- You are motivated to continue to create goals and keep this process going in order to keep yourself healthy</p>
<p>If you are the person described above, then you don&#8217;t need a personal trainer. You are doing just fine on your own. What I&#8217;ve noticed, though, is that there are maybe 1 in 100 people that fit this bill. And I think the number is that high because I work at a gym. I think that out there, in the &#8216;real&#8217; world, it&#8217;s probably more like 1 in 1000.</p>
<p>If you&#8217;re not sure if you are the self motivated type, then I have a suggestion that will help you to figure out which category you fall under and what it is you need to get you to your goals. I have a Fit &amp; Healthy Tribe of people who benefit from holding each other accountable. The program is a relaxed approach to fitness- right in between the self motivated type and the people who need a personal trainer to get out of bed in the morning. Many people try it out in order to see where they fall in this lineup. The Tribe consists of one 10 minute video per month, one Q&amp;A call with me per month, a weekly recipe, and a monthly &#8216;Challenge&#8217;. If you try it out and you can&#8217;t get yourself to do the video even ONE time, then you definitely need a personal trainer! If you try it out, and you are able to follow along, then you&#8217;re good to go. It&#8217;s a super efficient and inexpensive way to stay fit &amp; healthy, and it&#8217;s only $8.09 per month.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I flew out to Denver this past weekend for a conference on how<br />
to monetize your business and re-pattern your habits and energy so<br />
that you actually allow the money in. It was an intense 2 days in a<br />
room with no windows with fake light and fake air. I could listen<br />
to these people all day, but knowing it&#8217;s beautiful outside and<br />
just sitting there ALL day was a bit much (a LOT much) for me. My<br />
skin literally itches to go outside. At one point I went rogue for<br />
2 hours, but I picked up where I left off. Anyway, I digress&#8230;</p>
<p>The POINT is that it was fantastic information and the energy in<br />
the room was great and they gave me all sorts of &#8220;aHA!&#8221; moments and<br />
information. </p>
<p>I&#8217;m writing about one of my &#8220;aHA!&#8221; moments. </p>
<p>At one point in the day, the woman leading the program, Kristin<br />
Morelli, was talking about all these practical business ideas and<br />
creating programs that will really and truly help people. And I<br />
realized, I am already DOING that. She asked if we had people we<br />
are already helping, and a website, and a bunch of other things,<br />
and hardly anyone raised their hands. I have worked hard to achieve<br />
all of those things. </p>
<p>Then it hit me, I already KNOW all of this! I am already DOING<br />
all of this! I am further along than I thought I was, and I know<br />
what to do to move forward, I just have to do it! </p>
<p>The thing is, I&#8217;m an information junkie. I am always reading, or<br />
taking business courses and learning more about how I can better<br />
help people. I spend SO much time learning, that I cut out the<br />
actual implementation. What&#8217;s up with that? It&#8217;s time to implement!</p>
<p>Can you relate to this? I&#8217;m curious what your experience is. I think<br />
I just didn&#8217;t trust that I knew enough, but this event confirmed it<br />
for me. Of course I can always learn more, but it&#8217;s time to actually<br />
utilize the info I&#8217;ve got in my brain NOW!! Time to TAKE ACTION!</p>
<p>Oh, and Colorado is beautiful! I am loving life <img src='http://mirzukfitness.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Most people are not too hip on this idea of acknowledging our own achievements.</p>
<p>We are our top critics. Nothing is good enough,</p>
<p>and we always expect more, More, MORE from the person we most need to give a</p>
<p>little bit of breathing room to- ourselves!</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>It&#8217;s interesting- we all have goals, right? Whether we write them down,</p>
<p>or keep them in or heads, or call them something else- we all have something</p>
<p>that we want. And all those things that we want, whether they are experiences</p>
<p>or material things, or whatever, they all require us to take some sort of action.</p>
<p>Many of our goals require that we take a sequence of actions in order to get the</p>
<p>results we want.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Let&#8217;s look at an example- hey, I know, how about WEIGHT LOSS!?  So, say someone</p>
<p>has a weight loss goal, they want to lose 10 pounds. This requires a series of actions.</p>
<p>They must exercise 3 or more times per week, and shift their diet so they are bringing</p>
<p>in fewer and more potent calories. Easier said than done. And they may need to do</p>
<p>more than that depending on their situation.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Say that person with the weight loss goal starts on this path, starts to exercise 3x per</p>
<p>week, and shifts their diet. After a few days they notice that their energy has improved,</p>
<p>and after a few more days they notice all the cool ways that that extra energy impacts their</p>
<p>life. But they don&#8217;t write it down, they don&#8217;t really acknowledge it. It&#8217;s no big deal, right?</p>
<p>They actually forget about that energy boost. They didn&#8217;t lose any weight yet, so nothing has</p>
<p>happened. In their mind, it&#8217;s not good enough. They are failing.</p>
<p>But they AREN&#8217;T!  Something HAS happened! We must take note of these small shifts in order to</p>
<p>allow in the big change we are going for! When you don&#8217;t acknowledge your accomplishments,</p>
<p>you soon forget what they are. Then you look back and think- oh nothing is happening- I suck,</p>
<p>and what do you think happens then? You give up on the whole goal. You efforts, as far as you</p>
<p>can tell, have had no payoffs, no positive results, so why keep trying?</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Do you see now why it is so important to acknowledge your accomplishments? So</p>
<p>you will SEE the steps you are taking! As you are living your life, you are ALWAYS</p>
<p>taking actions and making decisions. Are they the decisions and actions that will</p>
<p>push you in the direction you want to go? Or away from? Decide what is your goal,</p>
<p>and then acknowledge ANY little step along the path towards that goal.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Your changes happen in pops and fits and starts, and if you don&#8217;t keep track of those</p>
<p>little pushes forward, then your mind, in it&#8217;s limited capacity, will not validate you. It</p>
<p>will always tell you you&#8217;re not good enough. So you&#8217;ve got to work around that. You want</p>
<p>to be able to consciously look at what you&#8217;ve done and impress yourself. Feel the work</p>
<p>you&#8217;ve done AND the awesome results you have gotten!</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>My suggestion is to keep a notebook by your bed and write in it 3 things every night</p>
<p>that you accomplished that day. When you go back over it, even if the accomplishments</p>
<p>seem &#8216;small&#8217; at the time, you will be amazed! I&#8217;m going to go write in mine right now.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The days are getting longer, and that means more natural light for all!</p>
<p>(No, I&#8217;m not talking about that nasty tasting beer)</p>
<p>It&#8217;s time to take advantage of the extra daylight hours to revitalize your body,</p>
<p>mind and spirit!</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Light governs your natural circadian rhythms, which regulate everything</p>
<p>from sleep to hormones, mood and libido.</p>
<p>The thing is, most of us only get a a fraction of our minimum daily requirement.</p>
<p>Researchers at the University of California at San Diego found that people need</p>
<p>three to eight hours exposure to sunlight every day to fine-tune our circadian</p>
<p>rhythms, but even the residents of San Diego only get an average of 58</p>
<p>minutes per day.</p>
<p>I know it&#8217;s easy to say, but if I lived there I&#8217;d be outside <em>every</em> day, teaching</p>
<p>classes outside all over the place.</p>
<p>Here are a few things you can do to boost your light quotient. If you have a porch,</p>
<p>sit on it to eat your breakfast. If you&#8217;re in a city, then eat at an outdoor cafe.</p>
<p>Take your workout outdoors (I LOVE teaching outdoors!), or add a morning walk</p>
<p>around the block to your routine.</p>
<p>I keep talking about morning, because studies show that early- morning exposure is</p>
<p>more beneficial than late-day light among people with seasonal affective disorder.</p>
<p>I happen to believe that we all have a touch of s.a.d., it just shows up more in some</p>
<p>than in others. So get out in the morning!</p>
<p>And don&#8217;t forget your sunscreen. Something with topical antioxidants like alpha</p>
<p>lipoic acid, ascorbic palmitate or coenzyme Q10. You can also protect yourself by</p>
<p>ingesting antioxidants, like Vitamins E and C. Best advice there is to just get a healthy multi-vitamin.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Here&#8217;s one of the topics that continues to perplex me, as I see people interested in weight loss because</p>
<p>they want to be thin, vs weight loss because they want to be healthy. I&#8217;ve seen many people, in fact, go for</p>
<p>extreme weight loss at the risk of their health! I&#8217;ve watched their hormones go all wonky and their hair start</p>
<p>to fall out. But they did get thin!! They were miserable and constipated and their hair looked terrible,</p>
<p>but they were thin!!</p>
<p>And this week I was the guest expert being interviewed on the Acupuncture Empowerment Hour,</p>
<p>where I got to speak on this very topic.</p>
<p>==============================</p>
<p>It is understandable to want to be &#8216;THIN&#8217;. It&#8217;s what&#8217;s acceptable in this society. It&#8217;s &#8216;sexy&#8217;, it suggests</p>
<p>power and it even suggests health (even if this isn&#8217;t always the case). But what do all of these things bring you? What exactly are you</p>
<p>going for here? Is it really just to be &#8216;thin&#8217; or is it a feeling?</p>
<p>It&#8217;s always a feeling that we&#8217;re after. We think it will make us happy in one way or another. That&#8217;s why we&#8217;re after it.</p>
<p>That&#8217;s why you see thin people who are unhappy. They went for what they thought would make them happy</p>
<p>and it didn&#8217;t. The trick is to seek the happiness itself, not the extra &#8216;thing&#8217; that you think will make you happy.</p>
<p>==============================</p>
<p>It is also understandable that &#8216;HEALTH&#8217; is not a big motivator. It took me a while to see it, but then I realized this</p>
<p>was true even for me! Health just seems like a far off airy fairy sort of goal. Who focuses on preventing cancer?</p>
<p>People worry about getting it, but they don&#8217;t do much to prevent it.</p>
<p>They&#8217;d rather &#8220;run for the cure&#8221;. Think about that. It&#8217;s sort of funny. Just prevent the stuff in the first place.</p>
<p>I&#8217;m not saying it&#8217;s always preventable, but I am saying that usually it is.</p>
<p>Point is, health seems like a difficult, very far off, somewhat unachievable goal.</p>
<p>So no wonder it&#8217;s not a big motivator.</p>
<p>===============================</p>
<p>The thing about &#8216;health&#8217; is that, when you are healthy, you are happy. You&#8217;ve achieved that feeling!</p>
<p>You&#8217;ve reached the end goal!!! Of courseit is a balance and needs to be maintained, but once you put</p>
<p>healthy habits into place, the path gets more and more obvious and easy to follow. I promise!</p>
<p>===============================</p>
<p>The reason that Healthy = Happy is because when you&#8217;re healthy that means all your systems are running</p>
<p>at their most efficient. And when your body and your mind are running at their most efficient and all your</p>
<p>hormones are working the way they need to be for your best well being, you will naturally be HAPPY!</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Not only that, but you will be at the optimum healthy weight for your unique body. You will not be over weight!</p>
<p>I&#8217;m not saying you will be &#8216;thin&#8217;- there are some weird ideas out there about just how &#8216;thin&#8217; we should be, and</p>
<p>not every body is meant to look like a stick. Go with your flow- get healthy, get happy and the weight will even</p>
<p>out to where it needs to be for your ultimate overall well being.</p>
