If you haven’t heard, I am serving up a 60 Day Plank Challenge on Facebook! It kicks off on Monday, August 12th. I just put it out there 3 days ago and already there are almost 200 people signed up and you can feel the energy as people get all pumped up for this!
Here’s the deets: We are taking it from 10 seconds to 10 minutes in 60 DAYS! Yep, it’s a little bit crazy. Already, people have been sharing their personal records so far. We have people starting anywhere from 20 seconds to 5 minutes, and they can only improve from here. Yes, the goal is 10 minutes, but I want to be crystal clear that no one should sacrifice their well being to hit that goal. You are going to beat your personal record if you follow the program, and that really is the most important thing.
I’ve received a bunch of questions on what type of plank you are required to do. It’s all up to you! You can plank from your forearms, from your hands, or from your forearms with your knees down (if you have a foot injury). You can switch it around as you go. You are the judge!
As far as form goes, I will create a vid to show you the proper form and all of your options. I want you to stay hyper aware of how your back is feeling. If you feel like you are sagging in your low back and you can’t control it, then your plank is over. I want your core to get stronger, and your lower back is included in that. If you are sagging in your low back, you are going to hurt yourself.
There will be prizes and they will be posted on the fb page: www.facebook.com/mirzukfitness in the near future. How will you prove you’ve gotten to your 10 minute goal? You must submit a video onto the fb page. I hope to see a lot of 10 minute planking vids!
If you are on the fence about doing this challenge because of health issues, please consult your doctor! This is just for fun, and I don’t want anyone hurting themselves.
