What do you want in your life?

Now, ask yourself, why do you want it? And then narrow that down.

What it comes down to for us as humans is – we want what we think is going to make us happy.

We have ideas about what will make us happy in regards to fitness. Thinner thighs, buffer bi’s,  and a lifted seat just to name a few. But do these outer enhancements really bring us happiness?

I’m not saying that they don’t, if your mind is in the right place. Here’s the thing, you’re certainly on the right track if you are looking for ways to make yourself healthier. It is very challenging to be happy without good health. The problem that I see is that people are trying to change who they are as opposed to becoming healthier in their own skin. They think that by changing their body they are going to become happy. And I don’t mean change their body by losing a few extra pounds that are dragging them down. I mean, they want to eliminate their hips and their bellies altogether. They want to be stick figures. They don’t like who they are.

This is clearly NOT healthy. You will not become healthy without a dose of innercise to go along with your exercise. You need to know who YOU are, and accept yourself. Then you can make improvements in your life and your health. If you don’t like who you are and you’re trying to be someone else- like a cocaine snorting supermodel, that’s not going to get you very far. At all. (more on supermodels in the next post)

I have a few suggestions for innercise. Here’s one- keep a journal by your bed and before you go to bed every night, write down three things you accomplished. Consider it your “Success Journal”. It could be anything from “I chose the salad instead of the pasta”, to “I opened my online store” to “I called my Mom”. Whatever. Then it gets into your head and that’s what you go to sleep thinking about. When you wake up you’ll be inspired by yourself and ready for your day.

My goal is to help people learn to be healthy and happy in THEIR skin, not someone else’s. Find who you are, there is something unique in you that is in existence to share with the world. By hiding that special something, you aren’t doing anyone any favors, especially yourself.
